The Two Towns

Therein lies to two towns. One for those, and one for those not. Those who are not are known, and those who are, are known as well. Yet within in the daily drumming of everyday life, there exists a brokered peace. An understanding of sorts. Unwritten and present. Unspoken and clear. And between these two lines, like temporal trenches drawn by sticks on a soggy beach, exists entire universes of pain and suffering, happiness and success, and every experience in between, a universal human experience. And for moments brief and fleeting, those and those not meet, as if salty waves have splashed away the divide, and there is a semblance that the two towns become one. That understanding prevail. Then, the tide as always cedes and reveals that lines once again, etched into the earth as if written in law. The moment passes, and there are two towns once again, of those who have, and those who have not.
